Sharmila Tagore – Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi

Probably, the first instance where a Bollywood actress married a cricketer. Tiger Pataudi who was then the youngest appointed captain of team India fell in love with Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore, the reigning queen of the 60’s and 70’s. Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi got married on 27 December 1969 after four years of courtship. Sharmila continued acting in films post-marriage whereas Tiger retired from the game in the 70’s due an accident where he lost an eye.

The couple had three children – Saif, Saba and Soha. Their marriage lasted a lifetime before Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi passed away on 22 September 2011.

Anushka Sharma – Virat Kohli

It was a destination wedding for the quintessential celeb couple, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli on 11 December, 2017. Anushka Sharma becomes the 9th Bollywood actress to marry a cricketer. Doing so she joins the elite club of ‘Bollywood actresses who married cricketers’ or one could even say ‘Cricketer stars who married Bollywood actresses.’ Their marriage has put an end to all the speculation and rumours which were floating in the media for a few years.

Hazel Keech – Yuvraj Singh

The British−Mauritian model turned actress, Hazel Keech who appeared in a few Bollywood films like Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’ and Indian TV programs, tied the knot with longtime cricketer beau Yuvraj Singh. Hazel Keech and Yuvraj Singh tied the knot on 30 November 2016 in a traditional Sikh marriage ceremony at a Gurudwara near Chandigarh.

Geeta Basra – Harbhajan Singh

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh and Bollywood actress Geeta Basra met each other for the first time at an IPL match as they got introduced by a common friend. Geeta, who has acted in several Hindi and Punjabi films, courted Bhajji for five years before they married each other on the 29th October 2015. The couple has a daughter now.

Neena Gupta – Viv Richards

Viv Richards, the former West Indian captain met Bollywood actress Neena Gupta during one of his cricketing tours to India There pending marriage with the already married Viv Richards never officially took place as she married Delhi chartered accountant Vivek Mehra in 2008.

Both fell in love as Neena got pregnant and gave birth to Masaba.

Sagarika Ghatge – Zaheer Khan

Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge got hitched to former Indian cricketer and pace bowler Zaheer Khan on 23 November 2017. The Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge marriage was a low key affair. Sagarika who appeared in Bollywood films like ‘Chak De! India’, ‘Fox’ and ‘Irada’ was dating Zaheer for a while before making their relationship public. Zaheer retired from cricket in 2014 after appearing in 92 Tests, 200 ODI’s and 17 T20’s for India but continues to play in the IPL for Delhi Daredevils.

Farheen Khan – Manoj Prabhakar

Bollywood actress of the 90’s, Farheen who appeared in films like ‘Jaan Tere Naam’ (1992) opposite Ronit Roy and ‘Sainik’ (1993) opposite Akshay Kumar, married all-rounder cricketer, Manoj Prabhakar in 1997. Manoj who played Tests and ODI’s for India from 1984 to 1996, was allegedly involved in match-fixing and betting later divorced his first wife and married Bollywood actress Farheen. The couple currently live in Delhi along with their two sons.

Sangeeta Bijlani – Mohd. Azharuddin

Former Indian cricket captain Mohammmad Azharuddin was smitten by Bollywood actress and former Miss India, Sangeeta Bijlani whom he met at a commercial shoot. The both dated each other before Azhar finally divorced his wife Naureen from whom he had two sons. Azharuddin and Sangeeta got married in 1996 but somehow both have drifted apart since his match fixing allegations and alleged affair with Badminton player, Jwala Gutta.

Reena Roy – Mohsin Khan

The ravishing Bollywood actress Reena Roy was at her peak during the 70’s and 80’s and romanced almost all the prominent heroes on screen. She married the famous Pakistani cricketer opening batsman Mohsin Khan on April 1, 1983. Post marriage and retirement Mohsin tried his luck as an actor in Bollywood by featuring in films like ‘Batwara’, ‘Madam X’ and ‘Saathi’, met with limited success. Their marriage fell apart after the birth of their daughter, Jannat. Both eventually got divorced after a series of martial conflicts.
