Sumeet Sachdev blames it on employer for wife’s miscarriage, files petition
It was an unfortunate loss for television actor Sumeet Sachdev and his wife Amrita Gujral. Amrita suffered a miscarriage due to harassment by her employer at the workplace. Amrita was five months pregnant when she lost her unborn child on August 17.

Amrita’s employer, Mr. Prahlad Advani, withdrew the sanction of her leave that he had earlier given her thereby preventing Amrita to work from home. This happened after a week when her paid leave was over.
After that, it was not just physical and mental stress which Amrita had to go through but a lot of other things as well. A series of events led to complication of things and she was admitted to the hospital.
Sumeet mentioned in his petition that when his wife Amrita asked for leave, his boss didn’t reply to her and directly sent her a termination letter. It was right after 30 minutes that she received the letter when her umblical cord prolapsed and Amrita had a miscarriage.
Sumeet took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt post for his unborn child, whom they had given a name already. He wrote, “Introducing you all to EHAN … beloved son of Amrita & Sumeet. You came into our lives
And made it shine so bright
We were family
From two now we were three.
We saw you wave at us
Excitedly saying hi
Little did we know
You meant to say GOODBYE.

Ye Hai Mohabbatein actress Divyanka Tripathi also condemned the harassment and wrote, “Losing a child due to work stress could be the worst torture ever! Amrita, Sumeet, and all people who face such atrocities at their workplace deserve justice.”
