Rajasthan eventually were shot out for 73 runs in 28.3 overs.

Nadeem’s record-breaking spell thus surpasses Delhi’s Rahul Sanghvi, who had recorded figures of eight wickets, conceding only 15 runs against Himachal Pradesh in the domestic season of 1997-1998.

Not only this, but Nadeem also makes his way into a list of players like Chaminda Vaas, Derek Underwood and Michael Holding-all of whom have taken eight wickets in List A cricket.

Out of all these names, only Chaminda Vaas is the one who has also taken eight wickets in an innings in One-Day Internationals.

Having scored 32 runs of the 10 overs, Rajasthan looked to carry on with the sedate start they had but Nadeem had other plans in mind. He triggered a collapse that even had him in the contention for all 10 wickets but fellow tweaker Anukul Roy and speedster Deepak Chahar dismissed the other two batsmen.

Nadeem, for a quite a while now, has been in the India A side. He started with figures of 5/157 in a match where India A defeated Australia A.

In a total of 87 matches in List A cricket, Nadeem has 124 scalps to his name. In the First Class arena, he has picked up 375 wickets in 99 matches at an average of 29.74.
